Design
The Lenovo Yoga 2 8-inch Tablet has most innovative design and it introduces the kickstand which helps you to use the tablet in three different modes. By using the Kickstand you can turned it outwards, can make the tablet stand for content consumption, lie down for when you want to write or you can hand it on a wall if you are glancing it during work. With the little hinge, it is easier to hold too. At the starting the only problem you come across is how to open the kickstand and Lenovo already find the way out of this, there is a sticker which explains the simple twist.
Behind the stand, there is a flap that holds the SD card and micro-SIM.
At one end of the hinge, there is the power button and on the other side, there is a power port.
Display and Sound
The Lenovo Yoga 2 Tablet features 8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and it is a full HD display. The display is sharp and bright & great for watching videos. It comes with Dolby Audio on JBL speakers and it has the best audio quality and volume. If needed, it can be used as television too.
Performance
The Lenovo Yoga 2 tablet is powered by 1.86GHz Intel Atom Z3745 Quad-Core processor and it works great. Multi-tasking is smooth and there is no lag when using the apps or even browsing with multiple tabs. While using tablet, I come across some heating issues while playing high graphics games and streaming videos on YouTube, these issues are rare on Atom processor powered tablets.
Software
The Lenovo Yoga 2 Tablet runs on Android KitKat with Vibe UI on top of it. It is ideal for tablet use and comes with ore-loaded apps. Some users like Lenovo tweaked UI while some users don’t.
Camera
The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 features 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera and it is a decent camera. It is not great in low-light and clicking images in Indoors. The rear-lens on the hinge is a bit problematic as whenever you have to click images, you have to flip the tablet every time you want to shoot. The front camera can also be used for video-calling. It has 8-megapixel rear-camera and the image quality is pretty good.
Connectivity
On the connectivity front, it has all connectivity features and offers great mobility. There are no issues on connectivity front.
Battery
It packs 6400mah battery and it is one of the plus point for this tablet. It promises 18 hours of battery backup. I used it for almost a complete day on 3G network with a full charge.
Verdict
At a price tag of Rs. 20,990 the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 is one of the best tablet where you can invest your money. It gives you great functionality, a FullHD screen, good battery life and an overall a better experience. In the end it is a good choice as a family tablet for playing games & watching videos.
