Google has announced the company’s latest VR headset- Daydream View VR headset at a price tag of US $79. It comes in three colour options – Slate, Snow & Crimson and will be available from starting November, 2016. Originally, the Daydream platform was announced in May at I/O conference and it is compatible with Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.
The Daydream View VR headset is made up of soft micro fiber and Google says that, they worked with clothing designers for its design. It is 30% lighter than similar devices and it is designed to fit over eyeglasses. The VR headset is soft & lightweight and it is hand-washable. The phone and headset have an auto-alignment system. The Daydream View VR headset runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

Google already partnered with Samsung, HTC, LG, Xiaomi, Huawei, ZTE, Asus, and Alcatel for readying smartphones with Daydream. In addition, the company will team up with over 50 partners for apps and games later this year.
The VR headset comes with the Daydream controller just like HTC Vive & Oculus Rift and it slides right inside the headset when not in use. Using the controller once can perform gestures & interact with the virtual world. It supports apps like YouTube, Street View, Play Movies, Google Photos and also tied up with Netflix, Hulu, IMAX, NBA, Electronic Arts and Ubisoft to create special apps for the platform.
