Samsung India has launched the company’s latest flagship smartphone in the Note series – Samsung Galaxy Note7 in India at a price tag of Rs. 59,900. The Samsung Galaxy Note7 comes in Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx colors and it will be available across India starting from September 2nd. Those who pre-book the device from August 22nd till 30th can get the new Gear VR at a discounted price of Rs. 1990. It also comes with Reliance Jio preview offer which comes with unlimited voice and data for 90 days. Originally, it was unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event in New York last week. The company also announced that the phablet supports 13 Indian regional languages.

On the specifications front, it features 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED curved edge display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The display has always-on feature and it is powered by a Exynos 8890 Octa Core processor which is paired with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Samsung’s own UI on top of it and it has 64GB in-built memory which can be expanded further up to 256GB via microSD card.
On the photography front, it features 12-megapixel Dual pixel rear camera with LED flash, OIS and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie & video-calling.
It has Hybrid Dual-SIM card slot and connectivity features like 4G LTE Cat.12, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2X2 MIMO), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, USB Type-C.
The smartphone weighs in at 169 grams, and measures 153.5×73.9×7.9mm.
It packs 3500mAh non-removable battery which supports fast charging (wired and wireless).
The Samsung Galaxy Note7 has 3D glass and metal design and IP68 ratings water & dust resistance. Even the S Pen comes with IP68 certification. In addition to fingerprint scanner, Samsung has added an Iris scanner for the first time which can be used to unlock the phone using eye recognition. Coming to the security features, the Galaxy Note7 comes with Knox Security suite which now supports biometric authentication from both the iris scanner and fingerprint scanner. The company also say that, there is new Secure Folder and it allow you to secure entire apps in a separate location – this also allows users to have two instances of the same app on the smartphone.
The enhanced Galaxy Note7 S Pen has smaller 0.7mm tip and improved pressure sensitivity. It has Screen off memo, Smart Select and new Air Command functions like Magnify and Translate, enable users to zoom in on the screen or convert languages with a simple hover of the S Pen. The Samsung is also said, the S Pen has the ability to create gif image animations from videos.
