In an event in New Delhi, Xiaomi has launched the company’s latest smartphone in the new “A-series” – Xiaomi Mi A1 in India at a price 14,999. The smartphone comes in Black, Gold, & Rose Gold color and it comes with 200GB additional data for Airtel users. The smartphone will be available exclusively on Flipkart & Mi.com online as well as on Mi Home stores and other offline retailers starting from September 12th at 12:00 Noon. Later on, the smartphone will be rolled out in other countries like Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and LATAM regions. For your information, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is the global variant of the Xiaomi Mi 5X that was introduced in China back in July 2017 but this is an Android One phone created in partnership with Google running stock Android based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat.
On the specifications front, the Xiaomi Mi A1 features 5.5-inch Full HD 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The smartphone is powered by 2.00GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 624 14nm processor which is paired with Adreno 506GPU and 4GB of RAM. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system, upgradeable to Android 8.0 Oreo and it will also be one of the first smartphones that will get Android P. The smartphone has 64GB internal storage which can be expanded further up to 128GB via microSD card.
On the photography front, the Xiaomi Mi A1 features a 12MP dual rear camera, one with a wide-angle lens, 1.25μm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture, dual-tone LED flash while other one with telephoto lens, 1.0 μm pixel size, f/2.6 aperture, PDAF, portrait mode, background blur, 2x optical zoom and more. The smartphone comes with Portrait Mode for delivering the depth of field effects like Bokeh. The smartphone has 5MP front-facing camera for selfie & video-calling.
The smartphone has Hybrid SIM card slot and comes with connectivity features like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C. The smartphone comes with sensors like accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, infrared, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.
The smartphone measures 155.4×75.8×7.3mm and weigh 165g.
The smartphone comes with Mi Camera, Mi Remote, and Mi Store apps will be pre-installed and you will get an unlimited high-quality photo & video backups in Google Photos. The smartphone has unibody metal design with rounded edges and there is a fingerprint sensor on the back. The smartphone comes with a 380v charger to handle power spikes and it comes with dual pyrolytic sheets that will help to diffuse & radiate heat quickly, reducing thermal performance by up to 2-degree Celsius. The smartphone also offers high-quality audio with the inclusion of 10V smart power amplifier, DHS Audio Calibration Algorithm, and support for high impedance headphones.
