Xiaomi launched the Redmi 1S in India at an affordable price and at such price range it will compete with Spice Stellar Mi-509 & Karbonn Titanium S5 plus. Spice Stellar Mi-509 & Karbonn Titanium S5 Plus runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean while the Xiaomi Redmi 1S runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI on top of it. There is no word when all the smartphones will upgraded to Android KitKat.
Xiaomi Redmi 1S features a 4.7-inch display with resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels and it is powered by 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8228) processor with Adreno 305 GPU. It has 1GB RAM and 8GB in-built memory which can be further expanded up to 64GB. It has 8MP rear-camera with LED flash, BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 1080p video recording and 1.6MP front-facing camera. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI on top of it and packs 2,000mAh battery.

It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and packs 2000mAh battery.
