In an event in China, Xiaomi has announced the company’s first laptop – Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air at a starting price tag of 3499 Yuan. It comes in Gold & Silver colour and it will go on sale in China starting from August 2nd. The 12.5-inch version priced at 3499 yuan and the 13.3-inch version costs 4999 yuan. Users can also personalise their Mi Notebook Air laptops with official sticker accessories for the hood and it includes a Leather Sleeve for Yuan 299, PU Leather Sleeve for yuan 99 and Microfibre Sleeve for yuan. With this announcement, Xiaomi has announced its entry into the PC category and it features metal body. The Xiaomi Mi Notebook will compete with MacBook Air.
The Mi Notebook Air with 13.3-inch display features a full-HD resolution and it has 5.59mm-thick bezel. According to Xiaomi having the same display size, the Mi Notebook Air has 11-percent smaller body when compared with MacBook Air and the Mi Notebook Air laptop is 14.8mm thick compared to the MacBook Air 17mm thickness. The 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air is powered by a sixth generation Intel Core i5 processor which is paired with Nvidia GeForce 940MX GPU & 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM, 8GB of DDR4 RAM. The Mi Notebook Air runs on Windows 10 Home operating system and has 256GB PCIe SSD & a second slot for an SSD drive is provided.
The Mi Notebook Air 13.3-inch display weighs 1.28kg which is bit less when compared to the 13-inch MacBook Air 1.35kg weight. The Mi Notebook Air dimensions are 309.6×210.9×148.8mm.
Xiaomi claims that, it has 9.5 hour battery life and it will charge 50 percent in 30 mins.
The Mi Notebook 12.5-inch display features a full-HD display and it has 5.71mm ultra-narrow borders. it is powered by Intel Core M3 processor which is paired with 4GB of RAM. it runs on Windows 10 Home operating system and it has 128GB SATA SSD hard drive & second SSD slot too.
It weighs 1.07kg and it is 12.9mm thick.
Xiaomi claims that, it has 11.5-hour battery life.
The Mi Notebook Air has laminated display which reduces the glare and edge-to-edge glass protection. It has full-sized backlit keyboard with 1.3mm key travel, AKG dual speakers and Dolby Digital surround. The glass trackpad has precise cursor control & multi-finger gesture controls such as scrolling program switching, zoom and other gestures.
Both Mi Notebook Air models also feature Mi Cloud Sync, letting users sync their phone contacts, messages, gallery, notes, and other data. Both also sports aa HDMI port, two USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack – no Ethernet port or optical drive.
The Mi Notebook comes with unlock support feature via the Mi Band 2 via Bluetooth v4.1. Both the laptops has support for 1C fast charging technology so that it takes on half an hour to charge the laptop to 50%.
