WhatsApp for Android received a minor update (v2.11.230) that brings in one much-requested feature – group muting settings. The popular messaging app now lets you mute a group beyond one week, or all the way up to a century 🙂 that means you can now mute groups permanently. The phone would still show silent notifications for the muted groups, but you can disable it.
The latest update has also added the ability to hide notifications as before. You can now disable notifications from groups, just uncheck ‘Show notifications’, the group would be totally silent. In addition, there is a camera icon next to the text input field in chats that lets you quickly take a photo and send to your contact, similar to Snapchat.
The new update is not available from the Google Play Store yet, but you can download it manually and install the update from the link below (from WhatsApp website).
