Samsung today unveiled the company’s latest camera-centric smartphone at an event in Singapore – the Galaxy K Zoom and if you do not know it is the successor of Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom. Already, the handset leaked numerous times and in earlier post we shared that Samsung will announce the Galaxy K Zoom on April 29th. The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom comes in Charcoal Black, Shimmery White and Electric Blue colours with nice textures for a comfortable grip. There is no word on the pricing though but it would go on sale in May 2014.

The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom is a hybrid between smartphone and a point-and-shoot camera and the highlight of the smartphone is 20.7MP 1/2.3-inch sensor located at its back, which is accompanied with a 24-240mm lens and a Xenon Flash. In addition to this, it offers 10X optical zoom and records Full HD videos in 60FPS & slow-motion mode.
The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom features a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and it is powered by hexa-core EXYNOS chipset (1.3GHz Quad-Core + 1.7GHz Dual-Core Processor) coupled with 2 GB of RAM and it has in-built storage of 8 GB which is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card.
The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with the latest Samsung TouchWiz UI which we saw in the Samsung Galaxy S5 and it features a 20.7MP BSI CMOS sensor, 4.4-44mm lens with 10X Optical zoom, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Xenon Flash. It packs 2,430mAh battery which comes with connectivity features like 3G, LTE, Wi-Fi: 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 BLE, USB 2.0, NFC, A-GPS + GLONASS in tow. The usual sensors like Accelerometer, Gyro Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Light Sensor are present.
The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom measures 137.5 x 70.8 x 16.6 mm and weighs 200 grams. It uses a new retracting lens technology and comes with AF/AE separation (Auto Focus/Auto Exposure Separation), Pro Suggest with 5 optimized filter settings, Selfie Alarm to take times selfies, object tracking and more. Other features include, Ultra Power Saving Mode, S Health Lite, Studio app and more. As you can see, the phone has voice calling capabilities as well, similar to the Galaxy S4 Zoom.
