Sony confirms that, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be available for Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1 S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3V, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition will be the first device to receive the update in coming weeks.
The other devices listed will get the update from early 2015, starting with “the core Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 series.”
According to Sony, they are working hard to bring this major update to as many as Z series devices. The new Sony features & functionality and the improvements we’ve made to the user experience – and we’ll be sharing more soon.
The update will be rolled out in phased manner and timings & availability will vary by marker/operator.
