In an event in New York, Samsung has announced the company’s latest flagship smartphone – Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ come in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Coral Blue, Arctic Silver, and Maple Gold colors. The Samsung Galaxy S8 cost US $750 while the Samsung Galaxy S8+ costs US $850. Additionally, the smartphone comes with earphones tuned by AKG by Harman, which will be available separately for US $99. According to Samsung, the earphones have a comfortable hybrid canal fit for better noise cancellation and they are made from the anti-tangle metal-fabric material. Both the smartphones will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow, March 30th, and goes on sale starting on April 21.
Both the smartphone features infinity display – an end-to-end, bezel-less screen that extends to phone sides. With the newly launched flagship smartphone, Samsung has removed its traditional hardware home button and replaced it with software buttons. The smartphone also comes with Bixby AI assistant and it offers more personalized experience to enhances the way people interact with their phones. For your information, the Samsung Bixby will be competing with other voice-based virtual assistants powered by artificial intelligence like Apple’s Siri, Google Assistant, Microsoft Cortana and Amazon’s Alexa. According to Samsung, as the Bixby ecosystem grows, it will connect across devices, apps, and services.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ comes with Iris recognition and it unlocks the phone in no time, verify Samsung account and more. The Facial recognition is a biometric authentication method that users can choose to use. Additionally, both the devices also sport fingerprint scanner which is located at the back and has Always On Display. Similar to the Galaxy S7, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are dust and water resistant up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes with IP68 certification. The smartphones also come with the Samsung Connect app, helping control compatible IoT devices.

Depending on the market, the smartphone is powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor which is paired with Adreno 540 GPU or Octa-Core Samsung EXYNOS 9 series 8895 processor which is paired with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU & 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with TouchWiz UI on top of it and has 64GB inbuilt memory which can be expanded further up to 256GB via microSD card.

The smartphone comes with sensors like an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.
