China’s mobile manufacturer company Oppo has officially released its R1 smartphone, a new addition to its mid-range smartphone club. Oppo R1 is a new Android smartphone that was teased at the start of this month. The Oppo R1 promises to deliver excellent nighttime photos with its 8MP rear camera.
Oppo R1 sports a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (294 ppi). It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory (no MicroSD card slot). Oppo R1 measures 142.7 x 70.4 x 7.1 mm and weighs about 140 grams. The phone includes a 2,410 mAh battery. The Oppo R1 smartphone runs on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean-based Color OS.
The Oppo R1 Android smartphone comes with an 8 megapixel rear camera with F/2.0 wide aperture and a 5 megapixel front facing camera. According to the company the rear camera is capable of delivering excellent images in low light conditions.
The unlocked version of the smartphone costs CNY2,498, which is about $410. The Oppo R1 can be ordered as of now, the smartphone is already listed on the company’s online store. There is no word on the availability of the device outside china at the moment.
