Micromax has started rolling out Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update for their A116 Canvas HD Handset. The handset gets its first major update released. Probably the new A116 stocks might come pre-loaded with Android 4.2.1 OS.
The update has also brought OTA (Over The Air) software update functionality with Micromax’s own System Software, so future OS updates from Micromax should be easier to install ( users can install them directly from their handset). The current 4.2.1 OS update will not be released over-the-air, unfortunately, for now A116 Canvas HD users need to visit the Microamx’s Superfone Service Center to get the OS update (without any cost).
The 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update includes some minor bug fixes and performance improvements. Some Features and Improvements included in the update:
- Quick toggles in the notification area
- Offline voice typing
- Panorama shot capabilities for the 8MP shooter
- Semi-transparent notification panel
- Fixes the low GPS lock issue (better GPS lock with Jelly Bean update).
- Micromax has enabled external storage usage in Jelly Bean 4.2 on the A116 handset. This means that with 4.2 on A116 you will be able to move / install apps on external storage.
So all the Micromax A116 Canvas HD users, enjoy the OS update that brings improved and faster performance.
