In an event in London, Huawei has announced company’s latest flagship smartphone – Huawei P9 and P9 Plus. The Huawei P9 comes in Ceramic White, Mystic Silver, Titanium Grey, Haze Gold, Prestige Gold and Rose Gold at a price tag of £449 (US$ 630) for 3GB RAM with 32GB storage variant. The Huawei P9 Plus comes in Ceramic White, Rose Gold, Haze Gold and Quartz Grey colors and it costs £549 (US$ 770). Both the smartphones will be rolled out starting from 16th April. The main highlight of these smartphone are the dual 12-megapixel rear-camera with LEICA SUMMARIT lenses and 1.25-micron pixels promising brilliant image quality in low-light conditions.
On the specifications front, Huawei P9 features 5.2-inch AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and it is powered by Octa-Core Kitin 955 processor which is paired with Mali T880-MP4 GPU. It comes in two variant 3GB RAM with 32GB in-built memory and 4GB RAM with 64GB in-built memory, which can be expanded further up to 128GB via microSD card.
On the specifications front, Huawei P9 Plus features 5.5-inch AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and comes with press touch that perceives different levels of pressure on the screen. It allow users to complete different actions such as zooming in to a photo or launching an app by applying pressure.
Both smartphone has single or hybrid dual SIM support, depending on the region and comes with connectivity features like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C.
It comes with fingerprint sensor on the back with 3D fingerprint sensor technology. Both smartphone has full metal build, the P9 is 6.95mm thick while the P9 Plus is 6.98mm thick.
It has an independent depth measurement chip and proprietary hybrid-focus technology. These phones also have full manual control and RAW support.
