HTC has launched the company’s latest flagship smartphone in the U-series – HTC U Ultra & HTC U Play in India at a price tag of Rs. 59,990 & Rs. 39,990 respectively. The HTC U Ultra comes in Brilliant Black, Cosmetic Pink & Sapphire Blue and it will be available from March 6th, 2017. The HTC U Play comes in Iceberg White; Indigo Blue; Black Oil & Cosmic Pink Gold colors and it will be available from mid-March. Both the smartphone comes with one-year insurance that covers liquid damage and any physical damage to phones. They also come with 7.5% cashback using Standard Chartered Debit or Credit Card from march 6th to May 31st, 2017.

On the specifications front, the HTC U Ultra features 2-inch secondary display with a resolution of 160 x 1040 pixels at 520 PPI while the primary display features 5.7-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and both the display are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The HTC U Ultra is powered by 2.15GHz 64-bit Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor which is paired with Adreno 530 GPU & 4GB of RAM. The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with HTC Sense UI on top of it and it has 64GB in-built memory which can be expanded further up to 2TB via microSD card. On the photography front, the HTC U Ultra features 12MP (UltraPixel 2) rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 1.55um pixels, f/1.8 aperture, Laser AF, OIS, 4K video recording and 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, UltraPixel mode for selfie & video-calling. It has Hybrid SIM card slot and comes with connectivity features like 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS with GLONASS, NFC, USB 3.1 Type-C. It packs 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.
On the specifications front, the HTC U Play features 5.2-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and it is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor which is paired with Mali-T860 GPI & 4GB of RAM. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and has 64GB in-built memory which can be expanded further up to 2TB via microSD card. On the photography front, the HTC U Play comes with a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, OIS and 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 28mm lens, UltraPixel mode for selfie & video-calling. It has Hybrid SIM card slot and connectivity features like 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS with GLONASS, NFC, USB 2.0 Type-C and 2500mAh battery with fast charging.
Both the smartphone comes with glass finish on the front and as well as on back too, there is a metal frame and rear glass is fully curved on the edges. Both the smartphone comes with USB Type-C port so there is no 3.5mm audio jack.
The main highlight of both the smartphone is that both comes with HTC Sense Companion feature, it’s an AI-based system that learns about you & your daily usage pattern and provides recommendations, friendly advice based on that. The HTC Sense Companion feature will learn about your most important contacts and apps, and surface related notifications on the second screen on HTC U Ultra. In addition to this, the AI-based software will advise you to charge your phone and it indicates that you are running out of power before bedtime.
Both the smartphone comes with HTC USonic earphones, the earphones analyze the shape of the user’s inner ears with a “sonar-like pulse” to adapt to you. HTC is also boasting of the “liquid surface” curved glass construction.
