HTC has announced the company’s latest smartphone in the Desire series – HTC Desire EYE. The main highlight of the smartphone is that, it has 13-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes in Matt White & Submarine Blue colours and would roll out in EMEA, Asia & US, this October. It has bright, dual-colour, water-resistant unibody design.
On the specifications front, it features 5.2-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor which is paired Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with new HTC Sense UI on top and has 16GB in-built memory which can be expanded further up to 128GB via microSD card.
On the imaging front, it features 13-megapixels rear-camera with dual-LED flash and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, wide-angle lens & dual-LED flash for selfie & video-calling.
It has connectivity features like 4G LTE/ 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX codec, NFC and GPS with GLONASS.
It has dual front-facing stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers and has 3 microphones for enhanced background noise cancellation.
It comes with a dedicated two-step camera key for focus and capture for comfortable one-handed captures and it also introduces face tracking up to 4 people in the same room, face cropped & positioned on the screen for maximum clarity. It has screen-sharing desktop functionality for video chat, split capture function lets you capture simultaneously on the front & back cameras into one split-screen image or video. The face fusion feature allows you to merge your face with another person.
