HTC has launched the company’s latest smartphone – octa-core HTC Desire 820 & quad-core HTC Desire 820q in India and will be available from 1st November 2014. It is successor of the HTC Desire 816 and originally, Desire 820 unveiled at IFA 2014 earlier this month. Both the smartphone look great and feel smoother. It comes in a range of colours and even HTC logo on the back gets different color treatment for each phone color option. Both the smartphone made of a unibody, polycarbonate casing that HTC defines as its “double shot color technology.”
At the launch, Faisal Siddiqui, HTC India’s Vice President & Country Head, said,

With the HTC Desire 820 and HTC Desire 820q, we’ve combined the most advanced technology with the best possible entertainment experience and bold, distinctive design, to deliver a handset that is both desirable and affordable.”
HTC Desire 820 on specifications front features 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and it is powered by 64-bit Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor (four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz per core and four clocked at 1.0GHz) which is paired with Adreno 450 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built memory which can be expanded further up to 128GB using microSD card.
On the imaging front, it has 13-megapixel rear-camera and 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense UI on top and packs 2600mAh battery, according to company claims it offers 22.4 hours (3G) of talk time and 424 hours (3G) of standby time.
HTC Desire 820q on specifications front features 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and it is powered by 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor which is paired with 306 Adreno GPU. It has 1GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built memory which can be expanded further up to 128GB using microSD card.
On the imaging front, it has 13-megapixel rear-camera and 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
It has dual-SIM support with 4G on both SIMs and has connectivity features like 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n (2.4 & 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, GPS, FM radio.
It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense UI on top and packs 2600mAh battery, according to company claims it offers 22.4 hours (3G) of talk time and 424 hours (3G) of standby time.
Both the smartphone measures 157.7 x 78.7 x 7.74 mm and weighs 155 grams. It also supports HTC’s Dot View case which provides instant access to your phone without opening the cover. Both smartphone will have DLNA to stream wireless on TV.
Both smartphone comes with HTC’s Dual BoomSound front-facing speakers.
