Satellite navigation device company, Garmin has launched the Vivofit fitness band in India at an initial price tag of Rs. 9,9990 and it is exclusively available through Flipkart. It comes in black and slate colours in both small and large sizes in the box. Customers can also purchase purple, teal and blue colour belts. Originally, the band was unveiled during CES 2014, earlier this year. The plastic tracker is set on a rubber wristband and the design seems to be inspired by Nike+FuelBand.

Vivofit allow users to set a personalized daily goal, track their progress and reminds them to move. It is equipped with all basic features like step counter, distance travel meter, calories burnt, sleep tracker, basic clock, date and time. It learns users current activity level and then assigns an attainable daily goal. As soon as you achieve milestones, it adjusts the goal for the next day. There’s a red move bar that appears on the display after an hour of inactivity and build when users have been sitting too long. Walking for a couple of minutes resets the move bar and get users out of the red. Setting the sleep mode when going to bed allows vívofit to monitor the quality of rest.
The band features an always-on, curved display that shows steps, goal countdown, calories, distance and time of day. It keeps an eye on everything from your sleep patterns and steps to calories burned and distance traveled. It’s water resistance up to 50m and durable.
It sync data with smartphone and to sync this data to mobile phone you need to download the Garmin Connect application from the App Store for Apple devices and Play Store for Android devices and connect with Bluetooth. In addition to this, it can also be synced to any computer using the ANT+ dongle, which is included in the box and Garmin express software, syncing it to Garmin Connect.
Vivofit comes with user replaceable batteries (CR1632 coin cells) that last for over one year. Garmin Vivofit will face stiff competition with GOQii Smartband, Sony Smartband SWR10 and Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit.
