Motorola Mobility has announced Moto X Smartphone at an event in U.S. yesterday. The latest smartphone is the first device to launch in the Motorola and Google partnership. The Moto X smartphone will be available from all major carries on contracts. But if you want a truly pure and unlocked version of Moto X smartphone then here is a good news for you. Google has now announced that there will be a Google Play edition of the Moto X, Google will be selling the device as well. You will also be able to purchase the Moto X from the Play Store.
The Google Play edition of the Moto X will be similar to the Google Play Editions of Galaxy S4 and the HTC One, will be unlocked and will run a completely stock version of Android. That means the Google Play edition of the Moto X will get updates before models purchased directly from a carrier.
The Google Play Edition of Moto X will be sold unlocked and at full price. As of now there is no official information from Google/Motorola about how much the Google Play edition of the Moto X will cost, or when it will be available on the Play Store. It is still unclear whether the Google play Edition of Moto X will offer customization and color options. However, AT&T says that the full off-contract retail price for the 16GB and 32GB Moto X will be $575 and $630, respectively, but considering the specs of the device, one can expect that the Moto X would cost around $299 unlocked for the 16GB model.
