Gionee has announced the company’s latest smartphone – Gionee S9 in China at a price tag of 2499 Yuan. It comes in Black, Gold & Rose Gold colours and the smartphone will go on sale in China starting from November 25th, 2016. There is no information on the global roll out as of now.
On the specifications front, the Gionee S9 features 5.5-inch Full HD 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and it is powered by 2.0GHz Octa-Cor MediaTek Helio P10 processor which is paired with Mali-T860 GPU & 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Amigo OS 3.2 on top of it and has 64GB in-built memory which can be expanded further up to 128GB via microSD card.
On the photography front, the Gionee S9 features dual camera – 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony sensor along and 5-megapixel secondary camera with Samsung sensor for capturing images with depth of field blur effects. It also comes with 13MP front-facing camera with Gionee Selfie flash feature.
it has Hybrid Dual SIM card slot and connectivity features like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS.
The smartphone measures 154.2×76.4×7.4mm and weighs around 168 grams.
It has a unibody metal design and comes with fingerprint sensor at the back. Gionee claims that the S9 comes with several secure features such as application password feature that lock apps and documents with fingerprint or password lock. The phone also offers private space that will let users save private contacts, texts, call history, and documents among others separately which can be protected with fingerprint.
It packs 3000mAh battery.
