Gionee has launched the GPad 5 phablet in India at an initial price tag of Rs. 14,999 and it will be available by next week via both online and offline retail channels. It is available in black & white colours and it is the successor of the GPad G4 phablet.
Commenting on the launch, Arvind Vohra, said,

Keeping consumer preferences in mind we have introduced the device which is high on features and easy on the pocket and we are excited to get it to the market.”
On the specifications front, Gionee GPad 5 phablet features a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and the screen is protected by AGC Dragontrail glass protection. It is powered by 1.5GHz hex-core Cortex A7 processor which is paired with ARM Mali-450 MP GPU. It has 1GB RAM and 8GB in-built memory which can be expanded further up to 32GB via microSD card.
On the imaging front, it has 8-megapixel rear-camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
It is a dual-SIM smartphone and has connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, micro-USB and FM Radio.
The Gionee Gpad G5 measures at 157.3×77.6×7.9mm, and weighs 104.6 grams. It also sports dual crystal loud-speaker with DTS.
It runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and packs 2400mAh battery which offers 288 hours of standby time, up to 15 hours of talk time on 2G and up to 12 hours talk time on 3G.
