Asus has announced that the Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 is now available for purchase starting from today Earlier, Asus started taking pre-orders on Flipkart starting August 19th and it is supposed to go on sale starting mid-september. Recently, Asus received 30,000 pre-orders for its new Zenfone lineup and Zenfone Laser 5.5 received 10,000 per-orders on the third day of the pre-order.
Regarding the response for its new Zenfone series in India, Peter Chang, Regional Head – South Asia & Country Manager – System Business Group – ASUS India, said:
“We are humbled with the kind of response we have received from the consumers in India. Being a new entrant in the market, consumers have accepted the brand with such great enthusiasm that we have to reset the sale date of our latest offering. Our endeavour has always been to ‘empower luxury to everyone’ and Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 is priced in a way that targets masses with its high-end features. Today we have a reach in 660 cities through Flipkart and we aim to achieve 5% market share in the country by next year.”
The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 ZE550KL comes in Pure Black, Ceramic White and Glamour Red colours and it costs Rs. 9,999. It is available exclusively on Flipkart. At the launch event, Asus announced that it will also sell 3GB RAM variant of the smartphone with an Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 processor in the future at a price tag of Rs. 13,999.
On the specifications front, it features 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and it has 72% screen-to-body ratio. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and it is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor which is paired with Adreno 306 GPU & 2GB of RAM. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with ZEN UI 2.0 on top of it and it has 16GB in-built memory which can be expanded further up to 128GB with microSD card.
On the imaging front, it features 13-megapixel rear-camera with real tone flash, laser auto-focus and 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 85-degree wide-angle lens for selfie & video-calling.
It has dual-SIM support and connectivity features like 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS.
It packs 3000mAh battery.
If you do not know, Asus is also selling the Zengone Laster 5.0 on Flipkart at a price tag of Rs. 9,700 for the 8GB variant and the 16GB variant costs Rs. 9,999.
