Apple has launched the Apple Watch in India at a starting price tag of Rs. 30,900. It comes in Silver, Space Gray, Gold or Rose Gold Aluminium Case and Sport Band and it is available in India though authorized Apple resellers offline across India. It is also available on Flipkart but there are no details about other online retailers yet. The base 38mm Apple Watch costs Rs. 30,900 while the 42mm Apple Watch variant costs Rs. 34,900. With 18-Carat Gold Case and Modern Buckle, the 38mm Apple Watch Edition goes up to Rs. 14,20,000 and the Apple Watch band Sport Band for both the variant in various colours starts at Rs. 3,900 & goes up to 46,900 for the Link Bracelet band.
Originally, it was unveiled back in September last year an went on sale in several countries in April earlier this year. Apple Watch has Retina display with Force Touch and Ion-X glass, a hardened glass for protection. The 38mm variant features 1.34-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 272 x 340 pixels at 326ppi and the 42mm variant has 1.54-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 312 x 390 pixels at 326ppi.
On Apple Watch, there are range of sensor like built-in gyroscope, hear rate sensor, Taptic Engine which senses all the inputs and and Ambient light sensor for automatic brightness adjustment. The 38mm variant measures, 38.6 x 33.3 x 10.5mm and the case weighs 25g, while the 42mm variant measures, 42 x 35.9 x 10.5mm and the case weighs 30g.
There is a microphone for Siri, Apple’s voice activated assistant and comes with Watch OS 2. It has speaker for alerts and connectivity features like Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n 2.4GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC for Apple Pay. It is IPX7 certified for water resistance, but it is not water proof.
