The iPhone has seen significant enhancements in every area in seven years. Seven generations later, it still dominates 53 percent of the smartphone market. Apple brought smartphones to the masses, and put a powerful computer into the hands of billions of people around the world. Apple has shipped more than 420 million units of its signature smartphone, as of September 2013. The iPhone sells contributes 53% of Apple’s overall revenue.
