Xiaomi To Start Selling Phones Via Offline Retail Stores In India, Teams Up With Redington

Since the entry in Indian market in July last year, Xiaomi selling their phones online via exclusive partnership with Flipkart. This year in April Xiaomi teamed up with Amazon.in & Snapdeal to sell their devices & above all, they extended sales through mi.com website too. Now, Xiaomi has partnered with Redington to sell its devices offline.

If you do not know, Redington is one of the largest distributor of cellphones in India. In starting, the offline sales will start through 1,000-1,500 stores in 15 Indian cities including Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mysore and Vishakhapatnam. As of now, in offline store Xiaomi will sell four devices – XIaomi Redmi 2, Xiaomi Mi4, Xiaomi Mi 4i & Xiaomi Mi Pad at a price tag of Rs. 5,999, Rs. 14,999, Rs. 12,999 & Rs. 12,999 respectively.

Xiaomi will sell the smartphones in phases and it is expected that all the products available across India by early 2016. According to the source, Manu Jain, India operations head at Xiaomi expect that the offline sales will contribute to 25-30% of the overall numbers.
