Xiaomi has announced the company’s latest budget smartphone in the Redmi series – Xiaomi Redmi 3 in China at a price tag of 699 Yuan (US $106). it comes in Dark Grey, Silver, Gold and Classic Gold colours and it will be available in China starting from January 12th. There is no information on the global roll out. It has full metal magnesium alloy unibody design and it is 8.5mm thick. It weighs 144 grams and at the back, there are 4166 stars arranges in a diamond pattern which are visible when the light hits at an angle.
On the specifications front, it features 5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and it is clearly visible under bright sunlight. It is powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor which is paired with Adreno 405 GPU & 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with MIUI 7 on top of it and it has 16GB in-built memory which can be expanded further up to 128GB via microSD card.
On the imaging front, it features 13MP rear-camera with PDAF, LED flash and 5MP front-facing camera for selfie & video-calling.
It has Hybrid Dual SIM card slot and connectivity features like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS + GLONASS.
It packs 4000mAh battery (typically 4100mAh).
