Xiaomi has announced that they sold over 3 million smartphones in India since its debut in India. According to a press note, Xiaomi crossed the one million sales mark in the county back in December 2014 by just launching the flagship device Xiaomi Mi3, and Redmi 1S & Redmi Note. After the month of December, Xiaomi crossed 2 million mark in March this yea and it took only 6 months to sell one million smartphone to reach the 3 million milestone.
Commenting on the new milestone, Manu Jain, India Head, Xiaomi said:
“The mobile ecosystem in India is growing at a very fast pace and we are happy to be an integral part of it. We are much more than just a smartphone company, as we also provide Internet services and sell our products through e-commerce, and we believe that we can contribute greatly to India’s growth as a technological hub. Our recent inclusion in the Make in India programme is helping us be a part of the fabric of the nation, and we will continue to bring more amazing products to India and aim to deliver the best value to both our fans and partners.”
This year the company started selling various smartphone and it includes, Mi4, Redmi 2, Redmi Note 4G, Mi 4i & Redmi 2 Prime and the Mi Pad tablet. Back in July, 2014 Xiaomi Mi3 available exclusively on Flipkart and now Xiaomi products available across Mi.com as well as several partners including Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, The Mobile Store & Airtel.
If you do not know, last month Xiaomi launched the Redmi 2 Prime in India. It’s a budget smartphone that is made in India at Xiaomi & Foxconn Facility in Andhra Pradesh.
