Reason Why I shouldn’t buy Vivo V5s:
I hope, now you are aware of the specifications, and what you will get when you buy Vivo V5s from Flipkart or offline market. There are a number of reasons why I didn’t buy it and all of them are listed below:
Display:
The Vivo V5s has 5.5-inch HD display (1280 x 720 pixels), and we are in 2017 where a smartphone under 10,000 comes with Full HD display (1920 x 1080 pixels). So, unable to understand who will pay nearly 20,000 for such a smartphone.
Hardware:
The Vivo V5s is powered by Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750 (4 x 1.5GHz A53 + 4 x 1.0GHz A53) processor which is paired with Mali T860 GPU. If you look at the processor side, you will find that you are paying more for such a hardware. Smartphones like Lenovo Z2 Plus, Xiaomi Mi 5 has better hardware when compared with Vivo V5s. It’s on you, if you want to pay Rs. 20,000 then go ahead and buy Vivo V5s against better smartphones.
Operating System:
The Vivo V5s runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with FunTouch OS 3.0 on top of it. There is no word from the company that Vivo V5s get Android 7.0 update or not. You are investing nearly 20,000 on such a smartphone where you are not getting the latest version of the Android operating system.
Battery:
The Vivo V5s packs 3000mAh battery and doesn’t have support for fast charging. In 2017, at a price tag of nearly Rs. 20,000 we have a smartphone that does not support the fast charging feature. Sounds interesting and still, you are looking to buy perfect selfie smartphone?
Value For Money:
The Vivo V5s cost Rs. 18,990, nearly 19,000 (sub 20,000 segment). When compared with another smartphone in the Rs. 20,000 segment you will find that Vivo V5 Plus doesn’t offer anything much and doesn’t justify nearly Rs. 20,000 pricing. Rest is on you, as it’s your money where you want to spend it.
GadgetGuide4U Opinion:
As a person, do I really need a perfect selfie smartphone? The answer varies from person to person. In this post I’m sharing my thoughts only and as said earlier, it depends from person to person. Let’s take an example, in a day we have 24 hours and out of which if we deduct 6 hours of sleeping, we left with 18 hours only. Now we have 18 hours and we can click selfie for 18 hours? That’s sounds crazy but when it comes to the company, they are providing you a selfie expert smartphone that comes with 64GB and store up to 26,000 images (as per their launch event announcement). Now again I’m breaking 18 hours in a precise manner. As a blogger, I usually work for nearly 12-15 hours and in this time period, I hardly click a photo using my smartphone. Talking about remaining 3-6 hours, these are spent in regular work, with family, and in other things. So, if I look at my schedule I don’t need a perfect selfie smartphone and if I have to click a selfie, then my non-selfie smartphone is good.
I want to ask a question from you? For clicking a selfie how many of you are ready to pay nearly Rs. 20,000 for Vivo V5s? As said above, the smartphone doesn’t have a better processor, will not get Android 7.0 Nougat update, doesn’t have support for fast charging and many others. In the Rs. 20,000 segment, there are many good phones that offer value for money and for reference, you can check it out on Flipkart.
Apart from this, we can do a simple mathematical calculation, the Vivo V5s smartphone cost nearly Rs. 20,000 and if you purchase it on 6th May 2017 and sell it on 7th May 2018. Just image how much you’ll get it. I’m assuming that at 50% you sell it and get around Rs. 10,000. Just take a wise decision, buy a smartphone worth of Rs. 10,000 and invest that amount somewhere. For your reference, the image gallery listed below shows that if you purchased the Vivo V5 Plus smartphone costing nearly Rs. 28,000, how much you will get after selling it.
Image Gallery:
The image gallery clearly shows that by investing Rs Rs. 28,000 on Vivo V5 Plus smartphone you get Rs. 9000 after a year. Is it a wise decision?

When both the smartphone compared in terms of design & build quality, you only find fewer changes. The Vivo V5s has a unibody design and comes with new U-type antenna design at the top and bottom, more like an iPhone design. In addition to this, there is a capacitive fingerprint sensor on the front.
