We’ve Twitter mobile app for Android phones, now Twitter has announced a tablet-optimized app for Android tablets. Until now Android tablet owners had to use the enlarged phone version of Twitter or the Twitter mobile site. Twitter app for Android Tablets will first be available on Samsung tablets, and it is initially exclusive to the Galaxy Note 10.1. It will come to other Android tablets by the end of the year.
The new tablet-optimized Twitter app has a two-column landscape layout, that fills your screen with Tweets, conversations, Trends, accounts to follow and more. With a single tap, Tweets expand on the right side to show photos, videos and article previews. You can also see photos, play videos or read links from the web in fullscreen mode with another tap.
Twitter also offers some unique features with Samsung, including multi-screen view, twitter widget and more. Multi-screen view lets users to run Twitter and another app at the same time. Twitter widget brings Twitter content directly to your tablet, enables users to engage with Tweets, photos, and videos while also delivering country specific breaking news, music, sports and photos. You can now use Twitter as your canvas to create and tweet colorful illustrations, or you can also draw directly on photos from your photo gallery and share them.
As of now Twitter for Android Tablets is available exclusive on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1-2014 Edition, owners of the 2014 Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 can download the new Twitter tablet-optimized app from the Google Play Store now. The app would be available to other Samsung tablets in the near future. Twitter has not mentioned yet that when the app will be available on other Android tablets.
