Following the launch of the Sony Xperia Z1 flagship smartphone, Sony is preparing to launch a mini version of the Xperia Z1 smartphone. The smaller version of the flagship smartphone will be available inĀ a range of vibrant colors with a 4.3inch 1,280 x 720 HD display.
Japanese technology blog Rbmen provides a brochure for NTT DoCoMo, a mobile phone operator in the country, which shows the Xperia Z1-f or Xperia Z1 mini in black, white, pink and lime color options and a 10 October launch date.
Sony Xperia Z1 mini features a 4.3in 1,280 x 720 HD display with Sony Triluminos screen technology, 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 2300mAh battery, and dust and water resistance. Specification of the onboard camera hasn’t been detailed. Xperia Z1 mini smartphone runs on Google Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Unlike the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini or HTC One Mini, which were less powerful versions of their big brothers, the Xperia Z1 Mini is packing power similar to flagship Z1 smartphone. The Xperia Z1 has a 5in Full HD display, the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM as the Xperia Z1 Mini, with 16GB of internal storage. Z1 mini has a smaller 2300mAh battery than its predecessor.
The Xperia Z1 mini smartphone is set to launch on 10 October in Japan, no information available for the rest of the world. Nothing’s been confirmed by Sony yet.
In recent months the trend of following the flagship smartphone with a smaller version making more sense for the smartphone maker companies to attract more customers who don’t like such a large display in a mobile device.
