Sony revealed the release date and price details for it’s latest gaming console PS4 at E3 2013 event. The PS4 will cost £349 in the UK, EUR399 in mainland Europe and $399 dollars in the US. Sony PS4 will be cheaper than the Xbox One – $399 in the US, £349 in the UK and €399 – compared to $499 and £429.
The official PS4 release date is currently pencilled in for ‘Holiday 2013’, so a mid-November PS4 launch date. The launch has now been confirmed as being worldwide, with the US, Japan and numerous European countries all getting the console during that period. There’s no precise date as yet. Sony didn’t reveal any more details on the release date at E3 so we have to wait untill any official announcement about the exact release date from Sony.
However, with Microsoft launching the Xbox One worldwide in November, we can guess that Sony will be going live with the PS4 around this time also.
Considering that the Xbox One will ship with used-game restrictions as well as an Internet connection requirement, the PS4 could benefit this holiday season with its lower price point and fewer gaming requirements.
Sony PS4 is likely to be available in India only in the first quarter of 2014 and will be expected at a price around Rs. 25,000.
