Turning phone is now available for reservation and it comes in three different colour/pattern variants – Beowulf, Pharaoh and Cardinal. Above all, it comes in three different storage variants – 16GB, 64GB & 128GB and costs US$610, US$710 & US$840 respectively. In case if you do not know, Turning Phone is a new smartphone and according to makers it is ‘unhackable’. Although the company showcased the smartphone in few trade shows and now the company has started accepting reservations for the smartphone.
On the specifications front, it is powered by Snapdragon 801 processor which is paired with 3GB of RAM.
On the software front, it runs on Android 51 Lollipop.
On the imaging front, it features 13-megapixel rear-camera and 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie & video-calling.
On the connectivity front, it has 4G LTE support, NFC.
It packs 3000mAh battery.
Apart from being a secure phone in the world, it has a very unique angular-design and it is IPX8 water resistant. It is made up of an alloy and the company calls “Liquidmorphium” and claim that the material is stronger when compared with steel.
To make a phone ultra-secure there is no USB port and headphone jack, instead it relies on a proprietary jack to charge itself and you get a Bluetooth headset in bundled in the the box for audio. The phone is encrypted end to end as it has a public key to send messages to a user & private key to decrypt them. The good thing is that, the encryption & decryption is handled locally as well to make sure there are no compromises in terms of security. There is a fingerprint sensor for authentication.
