Panasonic has announced the company’s latest smartphone in the P series – Panasonic P55 in India at a price tag of Rs. 10,290. It comes with unique tile patterned back cover which gives the phablet a premium & elegant look while keeping the thickness to 7.9mm. It comes in Black and Pearl White colours and Panasonic offers a free screen guard & flip cover too.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Manish Sharma, Managing Director, Panasonic India said,

With continuous innovation as our baseline strategy, the new P55 gives our consumers the ability to operate their smartphone seamlessly while meeting the easily accessibility aspect.”
On the specifications front, it features 5.5-inch IPS HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and it is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor which is paired with 1GB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and has 4GB in-built memory which can be expanded further using microSD card.
On the imaging front, it features 8MP autofocus rear-camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie & video-calling.
It has dual-SIM support and connectivity features like 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS
It packs 2500mAh battery.
Panasonic P55 comes with an innovative “Tap Play” feature where the smartphone has an in-built capability to recognize touch while in sleep mode, i.e., users can double tap to wake-up the phablet instead of reaching the power button every time. Likewise, it can be returned to sleep mode with the same gestures.
P55 also features “Gesture Play”, a gesture based feature to launch apps directly from home screen; “Pop-i Player” which lets you multi-task while playing videos & a single hand operable music player named “Music Cafe”.
