Obi Mobiles has launched the much-anticipated smartphone – Obi Octopus S520 in India at an initial price tag of Rs. 11,990. It is exclusively available through online marketplace Snapdeal. It comes in white color and it packs extreme performance and multitasking capabilities. It comes with free flip cover, screen guard and in-ear headset in the box.

On the specifications front, it features a 5 –inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels & has pixel density of 294ppi and it is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek (MT6592) processor which is paired with 1GB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and has 8GB in-built memory which can be expanded further up to 32GB via microSD card.
On the imaging front, it has 8-megapixel autofocus rear-camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
It has dual-SIM support (regular SIM + micro-SIM) and connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro-USB, GPRS/EDGE and 3G.
It measures 145 x 75 x 8.4mm
It packs 1,800mAh Li-Ion battery which lasts up to 4 hours of talk time & has 180 hours of standby time.
The company also confirmed that it has 95 service centres across India for the after sales service of its Obi handsets. It will compete with offering from vendors like Intex, Micromax, Karbonn, Motorola’s Moto G and Xiaomi Mi3.
