Earlier Nokia unveiled Nokia X at MWC 2014 and later on it was launched in India at an initial price of INR 8,599. The Nokia X might be in talks because of the forked version of Android and it is least expensive when compared with the best-selling Windows Phone in Nokia’s line up, the Nokia Lumia 520. Already in previous post we compared the Nokia X series phone (Nokia x vs Nokia X+ vs Nokia XL) and now in this post we are comparing the Nokia X with Nokia Lumia 520.
Design: Both the devices are almost similar and made up of polycarbonate design. It offers a premium design and feel irrespective of the price point.
Display: Both the devices sport a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) display pushing out 223 pixels per inch (ppi). The Lumia 520 has a scratch resistant coating on top, which is not available in Nokia X.
Hardware: Both the devices sport a dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon SoC processor but Nokia Lumia 520 has a different chipset. Both devices have 512MB RAM. The Nokia Lumia 520 has an Adreno 305 GPU while the Nokia X has an Adreno 203 GPU. The Nokia Lumia 520 comes with 8GB internal storage which is expandable up to 64GB using microSD card whereas the Nokia X comes with 4GB internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB.
Camera: The Nokia Lumia 520 features a 5-megapixel rear camera while the Nokia X gets a 3-megapixel camera. None of the devices comes with secondary camera and the Nokia Lumia 520 has the ability to shoot 720p video and the Nokia X can only shoot videos in 480p resolution.
Software: The Nokia Lumia 520 runs on Microsoft’s Windows Phone OS while the Nokia X uses Nokia X Software, a forked version of Android. In addition to this, both devices comes with Nokia and Microsoft services like Outlook, Skype, HERE maps, Nokia Music and so forth.
Battery: The Nokia X packs 1500mAh battery and claims 13.3 hours on 2G & 10.5 hours on 3G network and with a standby time of 28 days whereas the Nokia Lumia packs 1430mAh battery and claims 17.4 hours on 2G and 9.7 hours on 3G networks and with a standby time of 16 days.
Pricing: The Nokia Lumia priced approximately around INR 7,700 whereas the Nokia X costs INR 8,599.
The Nokia X comes with Dual-SIM slot while the Nokia Lumia 520 is a single micro-SIM device.
