MediaTek has announced the company’s latest processor – MT6595 in India and it is the world’s first True Octa-core 4G LTE SoC. It is expected that the devices embedded with MT6595 will arrive in India market by the end of the year. Originally, it was announced back in February 2014 and it will accelerate the transition to 4G LTE in the country.
Commenting on the launch, Dr. Finbarr Moynihan, General Manager – Corporate Sales Internation of MediaTek said,

In case if you do not know, MediaTek recently announced its robust expansion plans for the Indian market with an investment of US$200 million. To boost its R&D capabilities in India, MediaTek has also launched a new facility in Bengaluru, which focuses on developing innovative solutions for wireless communications. The new Bengaluru facility, together with MediaTek’s Noida facilities, are instrumental to bolstering MediaTek’s R&D capabilities, allowing company to establish presence presence in other segments beyond mobile, said in a press release.
