At CES 2016, Lenovo has announced the company’s latest modular tablet – Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Modular Tablet at a price tag of US $899. The modular tablet lets you add a presenter module which comes with a pico projector and HDMI port, ThinkPad Keyboard including tracepoint which can snap onto the tablet. It also comes with additional battery & even a 3D imaging module with is rear-facing Intel RealSense camera. The ThinkPad Keyboard offers three adjustable typing angles. The tablet with keyboard weigh 1kg and the tablet alone weighs just 790 grams. It also has built-in kick stand like the Microsoft Surface tablets.
On the specifications front, it features 12-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels and it also supports an active stylus & palm rejection logic. The plan rejection logic uses firmware algorithm which blocks accidental touches created when the palm brushes or rests on the display. It is powered by 6th gen Intel Core M7 processor with vPro and has up to 16GB RAM. It runs on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit operating system and comes with 1TB NVMe SSD storage.
On the imaging front, it features HD front-facing camera and rear-camera with LED Flash.
It has connectivity features like LTE-A (optional), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth.
The productivity module adds 5 hours of battery life.
