LeEco launched the Super3 X55 4K TV in India at a price tag of Rs. 59,790. The TV available on LeMall and Flipkart. Many of you know, that LeEco smartphone & smart TV has solid hardware and comes with free content subscriptions. Above all, the pricing is low when compared to others. In this post I’m sharing a detailed review of Super3 X55 4K TV is worth for money or not. After using the TV for almost 1.5 months, I can say that, at such a price tag it’s value for money.
Build And Design:
In terms of build quality & design, LeEco has done quite well and the TV looks really good. The Yoga stand looks nice and fits pretty easy on both the ends. The stand is curved and made up of metal. To connect the stand with TV, screws are provided. Once fixed, the stand holds the TV without any screen wobble. The stand is a optional as there is option to wall mount the TV. Just to mention that, the stand gives a premium look. The stand and main frame of the panel has a aluminium finish and at the back has all plastic.
The panel is quite thin and the chrome finish on the sides offers a premium feel. There’s a LeTV logo with backlit and it goes when TV is ON or OFF. At the back, it is complete black and has different slots & various inputs ports provided by LeEco. Above all, you can easily find the TV model information and the serial number. There is an extra USB port on the top of the TV and it can be used to connect webcam or any other compatible accessory.
When compared, LeEco Super3 X55 TV offers striking looks against televisions from VU, Sony and others.
Display:
The display looks pretty good and the colours look great too. The TV achieves a brightness of 293 units with the backlight set to 100% and Brightness setting at 50%. Although, LeEco promises 85% of the NTSC colour gamut on this and our tests returned 75% of NTSC gamut.
Considering the price tag, it’s quite commendable that LeEco managed to squeeze in a 4K panel. Although, it is worth noting that the TV cannot run 4K content at 60Hz. LeEco says the TV can decode H.265 4K content at 60Hz, the native panel refresh are seems to be only 30Hz, for 4K content. Hence, even if the TV shows you such content, it will not be able to actually play it at 60Hz. Accessing Settings, you get the basic brightness, backlight, contrast and some other functionalities, but nothing for an enthusiast to play around with.
The panel quality is really goof for the 60K price point.
Audio:
The Super3 X55 has two 10W speakers, and Dolby Audio optimisation. The speakers are loud enough and it can be easily used in large rooms without compromising on the volume.
UI:
The TV runs on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop operating system with EUI on top of it. The interface is extremely fast and looks nice. The TV runs on a Cortex A17 quad-core processor which is paired with 2GB of RAM and switching apps, loading new ones and shifting between screens is really smooth and responsive. There is an LeTV app store onboard, but the number of apps is quite limited. Above all, you can connect a Chromecast for better app support.
Features:
The TV runs on a Cortex A17 quad-core processor with a quad-core Mali-T760 MP4 GPU for support. There is 8GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. In the connectivity department, it supports Bluetooth as well as Wi-Fi 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz.
Free Services:
The TV comes with 4-year warranty on the panel, and two-year warranty on the rest of the television.
LeEco’s content services:
The LeEco business model revolved around content and already content services added to LeEco’s phones. You can also find content services on Super3 TVs series. You get Le Live and Le Vidi apps, which provide movie streaming and Live TV respectively.
