HARMAN International, a subsidiary of the Samsung Electronics Group, has launched the portable JBL GO 2 speaker in India at a price tag of Rs.2,999. The JBL GO 2 speaker comes in 12 colours options – Ash Gray, Icecube Cyan, Seafoam Mint, Lemonade Yellow, Sunkissed Cinnamon, Pearl Champagne, Midnight Black, Deep Sea Blue, Moss Green, Coral Orange, Ruby Red, and Slate Navy. The Bluetooth speaker available at all major retail and electronic outlets across India and it is also made available at 350 Samsung brand stores in the country. Originally, it is the second-generation speaker of the popular JBL GO, which the company launched in 2015.
The JBL GO 2 has the same box-shaped design when compared with the predecessor. Although, the JBL GO 2 speaker has rounded edges which makes it easier to carry & hold it. The biggest change you’ll find that the JBL GO 2 is waterproof. With IPX7 rating, users do not have to worry about carrying the speaker in shower, rain or even near poolside. Minor splashes and dips here and there will cause no harm but prolonged exposure to the swimming pool could be harmful. Also, the JBL GO 2 speaker submerged completely in water up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes.
The JBL GO 2 has pretty much same features as its predecessor. It features 3.0-Watt mono speaker which is said to have a frequency response of 180Hz to 20kHz. It packs 730mAh rechargeable battery and offers 5 hours of continuous music playtime on one full charge. The speaker takes 2.5 hours to charge completely from scratch. The speaker measures 71.2 x 86.0 x 31.6 mm and weighs 184 grams. JBL GO 2 box contents include a Micro-USB cable, a one-year warranty card, a quick start guide, and a safety guide.
The JBL GO 2 comes with Bluetooth 4.1 which means you can connect it wirelessly to a smartphone, tablet or even a laptop. It also features a wired connection, so you can play music from older MP3s and devices that do not support Bluetooth. The JBL GO 2 also has a built-in echo and noise-canceling microphone, which allows you to handle incoming calls directly when connected to the speaker. Additionally, the company claims that it also offers better audio output and overall performance.
Commenting on the launch, Sumit Chauhan, Vice President – Lifestyle Audio, HARMAN India, said:
