Apple has unveiled the iPad Mini 3 at a price tag of $399 for the 16GB variant, $499 for the 64GB variant and $599 for the 128GB variant, Wi-Fi version. The Wi-Fi + LTE variant costs $529 for 16GB, $629 for 64GB and $729 for 128GB. It comes in Silver, Space Gray and Gold and it will be available for pre-order starting October 17th and starts shipping next week.
On the specifications front, it features 7.9-inch Retina Display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and it has Fingerprint-resistance oleo phobic coating. It is powered by A7 chip with 64‑bit architecture & M7 motion coprocessor. It runs on latest iOS 8.1 operating system and has 16GB/64GB/128GB in-built memory. It has Touch ID fingerprint sensor and it does not have NFC, so it will be used for Apple Pay Within Apps.
On the imaging front, it features 5-megapixel iSight camera with 1080p video recording and a FaceTime HD camera.
It is 7.5mm thick and weigh 331 grams (Wi-Fi)/341 grams (Wi-Fi + Cellular)
On the connectivity front, it has connectivity features like Wi-Fi, dual channel (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and MIMO. The LTE variant has support for 20 LTE bands.
It packs 23.8-watt-hour rechargeable lithium-polymer battery which offers up to 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi‑Fi, watching video, or listening to music. Charging is done via power adapter or USB to computer system
