HTC RE Camera Launched In India For Rs. 9,990

HTC has launched the RE Camera in India at a price tag of Rs. 9,990 and will be available on Snapdeal starting November 5th. If you do not know, HTC RE Camera is an action camera like the GoPro. It is a small handheld camera which features 16-megapixel sensor with a 146 degree wide-angle lens, capable of recording full HD video and 120 fps slow motion video at 720p. It has waterproof body with IP57 rating and doesn’t require a case for protecting itself from any kind of water damage. It can also record Zoes, just like the other HTC phones.

Commenting on the launch, Chia-Lin Chang, President of Global Sales and Chief Financial Officer, HTC, said,

Today HTC has taken a bold step to introduce a new product category, with a remarkable little camera called, RE. A product that you once pick up, you will not want to put it down. RE, will allow our users to get out from behind the lens and live and experience moments.”

Tony Navin, Senior Vice President – Electronics & Home, Snapdeal.com said,

“This is a unique & innovative product from HTC that would appeal to a wide range of consumers. This is a great product that can be used by every person in many unique ways. We are very confident that this would be a runaway success with our 25+ million subscriber base.”

HTC is hoping that Re Camera will help the users in stepping our from behind the camera and enjoying the life as it happens. The camera includes just two buttons, one for image/ video capture and other for slow motion video. There is no power button present on the device and it utilizes the integrated grip sensor to detect whether someone is holding and it switches itself on.

The app connects over Wi-Fi direct and it allow users to sync images and videos to the smartphone thereby allowing instant posts to social media. It has an LED indicator that flashes red when you take a picture, stays on while recording video and flashes blue when slow motion video is activated.

It packs 820mAh in-built battery which offers you to continuously record a little more than 1.5 hours of video and click 1,200 16MP photos.
