[Comparison] HTC One (M8) vs Apple iPhone 5S

HTC has announced the HTC One (M8) and it is the gorgeous phone, wrapped up in curvy metal with an innovative camera and an improved version of HTC’s Sense UI. In this post we are comparing HTC One (M8) with Apple iPhone 5S and comparing an Android smartphone and an iOS smartphone is always tough, let’s see who wins.

The HTC One (M8) features a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920-pixel whereas the iPhone 5S features only a 4-inch Retina display with a resolution of 640 x 1136 pixels.

Processor

The HTC One (M8) features a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset whereas the Apple iPhone 5S features Apple’s own A7 chip with a 64-bit architecture. The HTC One (M8) has 2GB of RAM whereas the Apple iPhone 5S has 1GB of RAM.

Storage

The HTC One (M8) features 16GB internal storage and it is exapandable up to 128GB using microSD card whereas the Apple iPhone 5S has internal storage of 16GB/32GB/64GB. The HTC One (M8) comes with 65GB of free Google Drive space whereas the Apple iPhone 5S comes with 5GB of free Apple iCloud space.

Operating System

The HTC One (M8) runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Sense 6.0 whereas the Apple iPhone 5S features Apple’s iOS 7.

Camera

The HTC One (M8) features 4.1-UltraPixel sensor (f2.0 aperture) and it also has a Duo Camera lens for depth perception only and 5-megapixel (f2.0 aperture) front-facing camera whereas the Apple iPhone 5S features an 8-megapixel (f2.2 aperture) rear-facing iSight camera with a Sapphire crystal lens cover and 1.2-megapixel rear camera.

Connectivity

The HTC One (M8) support Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE and nano SIM whereas the Apple iPhone 5S support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE and nano SIM.

Battery

The HTC One (M8) packs 2,600mAh battery that is supposedly 40 per cent more efficient than the first HTC One. The HTC One (M8) also features Qualcomm Fast Charge, meaning it can reach 80 per cent charge in just an hour via the charger cable that comes in the box. The Apple iPhone 5S packs  1570mAh built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that lasts up to 10 hours of talk-time on 3G, up to 10 hours of Internet use on 4G LTE, and video playback up to 10 hours.

Design

The HTC One (M8) features an aluminium rear that wraps around the sides and thinner walls and it is available in three colours at launch: gunmetal grey, arctic silver and amber gold whereas the Apple iPhone 5S has aluminium back and sides feel classy, and it is available in the colours space gray, gold and silver.

Technically, the HTC One (M8) wins over the Apple iPhone 5S because it has larger, better display and has more storage options. If you are planning to buy any of the device, then you have to spent a good amount of money.
