[How-To Guide] Update New Nexus 7 Tablet To Android 4.4 Kitkat

Earlier we shared that the Android 4.4 KitKat OTA update available for new Nexus 7 tablet (Wi-Fi version) and now in this post we are sharing how to update new Nexus 7 tablet to Android 4.4 KitKat. This is a step-by-step guide and you have to just follow the steps to update Google Nexus 7 tablet to Android 4.4 KitKat. At the end of article, a video also added which clearly shows how to update new Nexus 7 tablet to Android 4.4 KitKat

Step-by-Step Guide To Update New Nexus 7 Tablet To Android 4.4 KitKat

Step1: First go to settings option as shown below:

Step2: In settings option scroll down to bottom and lookout for option “About tablet”, now click on it.

Step3: As soon as you click on “About tablet”, a new window open and look out for “System Updates” as shown below:

Step4: As soon as you click on “System Updates“, you see that “Android 4.4 System Update” available. Now, simply click on “Restart & Install” to install the Android 4.4 KitKat update on new Nexus 7 tablet.

Step5: As soon as you click on “Restart & Install” button, tablet will be shutting down as you can see in the image below:

Step6: Now, the tablet will reboot again, showing a message that “Installing System Update”, you can see in the image below, this will take few minutes to install update.

Step7: As soon as “Installing System Update” finishes, the tablet will shut down again and rebooted again.

Step8: As soon as the tablet rebooted (this will take a few time), you can see that, “Android is upgrading” and “Optimizing 104 apps” as shown below in image:

Step9: As soon as the “Optimizing 104 apps” finishes down, you will see the “Home screen” of your tablet (new Nexus 7 tablet updated to KitKat 4.4)

Step10: To confirm that, your new Nexus 7 tablet updated to version 4.4 simply go to “Settings” option and lookout for “About tablet” and as soon as you click on “About tablet” you see a new screen (as shown below) which shows that tablet updated to Android 4.4 (you have to just follow the Step1, Step2 and Step3 again to check out the latest update)
