Last month Huawei under its Honor brand has launched the company’s latest smartphone – Honor 5C in India at a price tag of Rs. 10,999. Considering the price range between Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000, there is a lot competition and already in previous post I compared it with LeEco Le 2. While comparing with LeEco Le 2, Huawei Honor 5C has lot of disadvantages and it is suggested that, you should not buy this smartphone & go for other smartphones. In this post I’m comparing Huawei Honor 5C with Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 in terms of specifications & pricing.
Display
The Huawei Honor 5C features 5.2-inch full HD IPS LCD touchscreen display with a resolution of 1,920×1,080 pixels (424 ppi pixel density) while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features 5.5-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1,080 pixels (401-403 ppi pixel density). When it comes to display side, I like the display on Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, the reason is that it comes with sunlight technology which means you can use the smartphone in direct sunlight without any issue. Apart from this, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 display is scratch resistant and while there is no as such protection on Huawei Honor 5C. Above all, the screen on Huawei Honor 5C is not bright enough and colours are bit dull. Above all, if you use your phone for watching lot of videos or spend a lot of time outdoors in the sun, you might put yourself in problem.
Winner:- Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
LeEco Le 2 vs Huawei Honor 5C
Processor
The Huawei Honor 5C is powered by Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 650 processor while the XIaomi Redmi Note 3 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor. On AnTuTu, the Huawei Honor 5C scores nearly 52,000 while that on Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 score is 67000+. Clearly when you look at the AnTuTu score, Huawei Honor 5C doesn’t stand up against XiaomI Redmi Note 3.
Winner:- Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
Operating System
The Huawei Honor 5C runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Emotion UI V4.1 on top of it while the XiaomI Redmi Note 3 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with MIUI 7.1 on top it. If you look at the operating system, you see that Huawei Honor 5C has the latest Android operating system while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 doesn’t have & still runs on older Android version. But when you see the number of features offered by Android 6.0 on Huawei Honor 5C are already present on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 as it uses one of the best & popular ROM MIUI. So, as a user you can go for Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and enjoy the number of features on your smartphone. Above all, the MiUI V8.0 comes with lots of features (will share it in different blog post).
Reasons Not To Buy Huawei Honor 5C
Winner:- Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
Memory
The Huawei Honor 5C has 2GB RAM & 16GB in-built memory which can be expanded further up to 256 via microSD card. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes in two variant 2GB RAM with 16GB in-built memory and 3GB RAM with 32GB in-built memory. In Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, there is no option to expand the memory. Still I recommend to purchase Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, 3GB RAM with 32GB in-built memory. The reason to recommend this, is that I’m a long time LG Nexus 5 user and never find any need of microSD card, 32GB is more than sufficient.
Winner:- Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
Camera
The Huawei Honor 5C features 13MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash, touch focus and auto focus, and an 8MP front-snapper with f/2.0 aperture. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 houses a 16MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture.
