Flipkart has launched the new fulfilment centre in Chennai in a bid to cater rising demand from Tamil Nadu. As a result of new fulfilment centre, users will get the benefit of services like same day delivery & next day delivery.
Commenting on the launch, Binny Bansal, COO & Co-founder, Flipkart, said,
“Tamil Nadu, is one of the fastest growing states that has seen an upsurge in demand for technology products like mobile phones. It was hence important to invest in the existing feeder capabilities and serve the ever rising demand from customers.”
With the launch of latest warehouse in Chennai, the total warehouse strength of Flipkart reached to 15 and Flipkart has invested in improving the supply chain in Chennai & surrounding areas. The centre is the latest addition to Flipkart’s state-of-the-art logistics network & technology which aims at providing easy access to e-commerce services for sellers & the convenience of fast delivery for customers. With hundreds of sellers already registered in Tamil Nadu, the facility will perform both inbound and outbound functions, facilitating a seamless management for sellers as well as consumers. The company also focuses on technology & aims to make its logistics more robust by introducing services such as automation & robotics in the warehouse.
He further added.
“With an expanding range of products across categories, new facilities become an integral part of our growth plan.”
The new warehouse will service key regions in Tamil Nadu with a dedicated team of experts who will be stationed there for training the staff & streamlining operations in the facility.
