Finally, the long wait is over as Chronic dev team released the Greenpois0n jailbreak tool to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on Windows. Earlier Grrenpois0n expected to make use of SHAtter bootrom exploit but Chronic dev team decided to carry out Geohot’s exploit instead of implementing SHAtter exploit.
Greenpois0n uses the same exploit as used by Limera1n and works only on Windows, the MAC version expected to come out soon.
Currently Greenpois0n works on iOS 4.1 for the following devices only:
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 3GS
- iPod touch 4G
- iPod touch 3G
- iPad
Future release will support the following devices too:
- Apple TV 2G
- iPod touch 2G
