Dell Announces Venue 8 7840 Touted As World’s Thinnest Tablet

Dell has announced the launch of the world’s slimmest tablet – Dell Venue 8 7840 and it is just 6mm thick. The tablet is expected to be released later this year and based on specifications, it is expected to get a heavy price.

On the specifications front, it features a 8.4-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and it is powered by 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3590 processor which is paired with 2GB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and has 16GB in-built memory which can be expanded further up to 32GB via microSD card.

On the imaging front, it has 8-megapixel rear-camera which is able to take above-average photos and another supporting sensor sits on the chassis to aid the 8-megapixel rear-in depth calculation, similar to the HTC One M8’s Duo camera. There is also a 2MP front-facing camera for selfie and video calling.

It has Wi-Fi connectivity and right now there is no much information revealed.
