An unofficial changelog surfaced that reveals some new changes coming to Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update. The same also reveals information on Nokia’s Bittersweet shimmer firmware. This unofficial changelog gives a clearer idea of the big picture of the upcoming Windows Phone 8 General Distribution Release 3.
WP8 GDR3 brings support for 1080p displays and more advanced chipsets. Changelog also confirms that GDR3 update brings support for 3 medium or 6 small tiles on one row for devices with WXGA (1280 x 768) or higher resolutions including Lumia 920, 925, 928, 1020 and 1520, along with the HTC Windows Phone 8X.
The app switching interface has an X on top right in multitasking view for closing apps. Users will find custom tones for text, email, reminders, IM and voicemail. The new WP8 GDR3 update also includes features like attaching Office files (.doc, .xls, .ppt) and .pdf files in email, a very welcomed addition for the WP users.
The changelog also reveals some information on Nokia’s Bittersweet shimmer firmware. This will bring 20 new accent colors to choose for Glance Screen’s night mode instead of just red in Amber. You can choose whether you want to keep the glance screen always on when charging. Glance screen will also have notifications, like the lockscreen.
