In an event in Mumbai, OPPO has launched the company’s selfie-focused smartphone – OPPO F5 at a starting price tag of Rs.19,990. The smartphone comes in two variants – 4GB RAM with 32GB internal storage cost Rs. 19,990, comes in Gold, Black color, and goes on sale on November 9th, 2017 while the 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage cost Rs. 24,990, comes in Red & Black color, and will be available in December. The smartphone will be available on Flipkart and on offline retail stores starting from 13th November. Originally, the company announced the OPPO F5 in the Philippines last month and it is the successor of OPPO F3 smartphone. The company also announced the OPPO F5 Youth edition and there is no word on the pricing. The OPPO F5 Youth Edition comes in Black & Gold colour, and will be available in December 2017. The main highlight of the smartphone is its 20MP front camera that comes with artificial intelligence (AI) beauty technology integration. The company has also announced the new brand ambassador – Siddarth Malhotra in addition to Deepika Padukone.

On the specifications front, the OPPO F5 features 6-inch 18:9 FHD+ full-screen 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 2160 × 1080 pixels, and protected the display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by 2.5GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P23 16nm processor with 800MHz ARM Mali G71 MP2 GPU & runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system with ColorOS 3.2 on top of it. The smartphone comes in two variant – 4GB RAM with 32GB internal storage, and 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage, the internal storage on both variants expandable further up to 256GB via microSD card.
Camera
On the camera side, the OPPO F5 features 16MP rear camera with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, and 20-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie & video-calling. The front-facing camera is powered by artificial intelligence and comes with beauty recognition technology that scans 200 facial recognition spots to create the perfectly refined & natural selfie. The camera allows you to adjust lighting according to the background and comes with bokeh effect. The smartphone also comes with face unlock feature that helps you to quickly unlock the phone.
SIM Support, and Connectivity Features
The smartphone has dual-SIM support and comes with connectivity features like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS.

The smartphone has a unibody metal design and comes with dedicated dual-SIM card slot and microSD card slot. The smartphone also comes with O-share file-sharing technology and the company promises that it is 100 times faster than Bluetooth when compared.

The smartphone measures 156.5 x 76 x 7.5mm and weighs 152 grams.
