Canon has launched the sixth edition of Photomarathon in India and it attracted number of photo enthusiasts, primarily DSLR users, hobbyist photographers as well as professionals. it is one-of-its-kind and the theme based photo contest witnessed amateur & professional photographers playing their tricks, techniques with cameras to present exemplary imagery.

The Canon Photomarathon 2015 was flagged off by Mr. Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India and Canon receives over 500+ entries. The judge panel include Fashion and Wildlife Photographer – Mr. Akash Das; Travel Photographer – Mr. Ajay Sood and Lifestyle Photographer – Mr. Ravi Dhingra. Renowned wildlife photographer Mr. Shivang Mehta, conducted a workshop for the participants on the tricks of engaging photography.
Apart from Photomarathon, there were Canon cameras & printers were on display for the participants, participants get hands-on experience. The Canon DreamLab stall showcased photo albums for the first time to the Indian audiences. Canon also set up the free camera health check – up camp for the participants.
Today the Photomarathon take kick off in New Delhi and later it will travel to Bengaluru & Mumbai. In Canon Photomarathon 2015, each contestant will be judged on theme based competition. In this very challenging competition, each contestant will have to shoot pictures within a limited timeframe on a given theme. Themes will be announced just before the event which will make it even more competitive. The pictures will be judged by well-known photographers based on their creative, technical and narrative sense.
The highlight of the event is the Grand prize which is a trip to Canon Japan’s Photo Clinic (photo workshop). The second and third winners will take the EOS 750D + EF-S18-55 IS STM kit + 8GB SD card and the EOS 700D + EF-S18-55 IS STM kit + 8GB SD card respectively. Additionally, Canon will gratify theme winners who will take home the PowerShot G7X and the IXUS 160 cameras.
