Earlier Vodafone India slashed the 2G data charges by 80% and now today Bharti Airtel also slashed data usage charges by 90 percent. In a growing competition, Bharti Airtel went a step ahead in reducing data charges as compared to Vodafone India. Bharti Airtel reduces data charges only for pre-paid subscribers whereas Vodafone India reduces data charges for pre-paid and post-paid subscribers. As of now, the slashed data charges available only in Haryana & Punjab circles and expected that sooner it is available in all circles.
Bharti Airtel said that the Volume Based Charges (VBC) on its recharge vouchers for 2G data usage of three denominations had been reduced to 19/10KB from the existing 10p/10KB. The new rates are applicable on recharge vouchers of Rs 22, Rs 25 and Rs 125 which have a free download limit of 125MB for 30 days, 150MB for 30 days and 1GB for 90 days respectively. After the free usage, subscribers charged at 1p/10KB.
